I do know that in my mom's 1993 525i she had to buy a Pioneer CD Changer in order for it to work (she wanted an Alpine originally - very high end reliable brand of coarse, but couldn't use it). That radio looks exactly like my mother's ...did you get it from an E34 5 Series?
