How to do a OBD2 to OBD1 conversion? (archive)

I want to convert my 98 SC M3 from an OBD2 to OBD1 for the better performance. Has anyone done this if so I need some info? I've looked at the Zionsvillerautosport kit but it cost $2000 not worth it to me! I've emailed AA and waiting for some info from them anyone else got any suggestions?
