There were 5700ish 95 M3s made...the most produced per year. 96-99 only came out with 3-4k per year. Most ppl like the '95 M3 because they use OBD-I and are easier to modify. Due to the fact that the 95 is the oldest E36 model, it also makes it the cheapest. Trickiest part is finding one below 60k miles.



I'm in the market for a used M3 and have narrowed down to 95-98 for obvious cost reasons. I've noticed most people here own a 95 M3...is this the best year to invest in? More HP, better handling, etc? Are they pretty reliable? How many miles is everyone getting on an engine & tranny? Are there any other message boards dedicated to the M3? Thanks to all who help!
