Evo M3 Vs. E46 M3 (archive)

Hi all

I'm a ///M3 96 Euro model owner. Too many times when I read articles about the M3 E46 model, usually they will say about the "disappointed previous model", the E36 M3 model….
First, I need to understand which model they are referring to: the US model with 240 hp, the euro model with 286 hp or the Evo model with 321 hp ??
Second,Please try to enlighten me about what's wrong with my Evo M3 and why the E46 is much much better. Engine and handling.
