Is Clutch Vibration Normal? (archive)

I recently acquired a great deal on a 1999 323i Convertible. The car is great, with one nagging exception: I feel a vibration or small resistance while depressing or releasing the clutch pedal. It kinda feels like the clutch plate may be unbalanced.

I have never felt anything like it on other manual transmission vehicles I have driven. I also drove a friend's 1996 328 coupe and didn't feel it (though his clutch feel was totally different).

So my question is: Is this normal? My dealership says it is, but I don't trust them yet.

Thanks, guys!

Jazz
