It sounds like a buzzing noise but it's not from the stereo system or anything like that. It sounds more like some kind of slightly loose part resonating. This only happens when there is a load on the engine and I'm accelerating hard from about 4k to 5.5k (RPM's). When in nuetral, no matter how much I rev the engine the noise does not appear nor does the resonating sound appear when I'm just cruising at a steady speed (still in the 4k to 5k RPM range). The resonating noise, when it does happen, sounds like it's coming from behind the dashboard. It's hard to tell exactly where it's coming from since its difficult to listen closely while driving (accelerating).

If I role down the window, the sound does not seem to appear but this could be due to the wind noise drowning out the "buzzing" noise.

Other than this recent "buzzing" noise popping up, everything else in the car seems rock solid.

Anyone have any clues to what might be causing this noise? Is my only choice in tracing this noise down going to be ripping the whole dash out?

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

against the back side of the dash when you accelerate. Not an easy one to find. Have you had an aftermarket deck installed? Something in the glove box? Also, my rear view mirror vibrates sometimes. Try grabbing the mirror when it's happening.

Good luck - Jay
