Here is the setup Im installing.

Fronts - Dynaudio System 340 ($600 used ebay) These and focal are the best speakers out there hands down.

Rears - a/d/s 320i plates (had but prob worth $125) (not as critical as fronts. mainly for rear fill)

Front Amp - Helix precision Helix HXA500Q MkII ($650)
This is a 5 channel amp that runs 4x70 1x150. It also is capable of bridging the front 4 channels so you can get 2x140. Perfect for the 3way seperates of the Dynaudio or whatever you go with. So I only have to mount two amps. I'll hide the a/d/s and showcase this one. www.theautophile.com (Brax makes these. Brax is the billy-bad-ass amps but way expensive)

Rear Amp - a/d/s PH15 (had it but it goes for about $125 used)

Sub - I have a Dynaudio 12" but it recommends 3 cubic feet for a box. That is huge!! So I will probably go with the JL. They are very nice and dont require a ton of space. I have heard the stealth 8" ones and they just dont match what I want out of a higher end system. ($100 for the sub plus $50 to make a box.) I heard the single 12 in a 325 and was very impressed. It is a nice moderate woofer that can hit you when you want it and blend nicely as well.

Head Unit - Im looking at going MP3. The Blaupunkt San Jose looks nice. High output, multi pre outs, the only thing is that it is silver. There is also a new system at www.phatnoise.com this is a 10GB system that connects in like a CD Changer. Unknown how good or price but not bad and you could keep your stock head unit. Although if you send your speakers a crap signal it will reproduce it great. :) Basicaly if you want a decent sound you have to replace it.

Good luck...

The San jose runs about $269 online.

Total cost for everything is about $2k plus install.
