I agree that the hard plasic doesn't provide enough of an "anchor" for a twelve-ounce can, so I usually have a washcloth stuck into the cupholder. Result: the can is held securely and the washcloth absorbs the condensation so that it doesn't drip down into the bottom of the cupholder. Further, I now have a moist cloth to wipe away dust and fingerprints from the dash. Anal, I'll admit, but it works for me.
