It's easy to do. Can you solder? If not you can use crimp connectors. Buy a metra BMW wiring harness, a Scosche antenna adapter and you are set. Make sure buy a headunit that is < 7inches deep, per crutchfield. The less deep the better because you need to fit a wiring harness/antenna adapter behind the unit.

You will be happy as the stock speakers/amp get better with a new headunit.

I have a 99 m3 coupe. I would like to add an mp3 compatible cd player to my automobile.

Planning on leaving the Stock Speakers and AMP in place, as I am pleased with the current audio performance, just want a cd head unit with mp3 and CD-RW features.

Two questions:

1. How difficult is this to do? I would like to do it myself. I'll also take suggeestions for car audio installers in the Boston area if the task is too daunting.

2. Could you suggest a aftermarket head unit with the features that I describe? I'll spend upwards of 500$.

Thanks all,

Chris
