The 96+s run a 3.23 rear end.
The 95s run a 3.15 rear end.
However, the 245s on the rear end of the 96+s are a tad bit taller than the 235s, which is prolly why.

The 3.2 also makes almost 15 lb-ft more torque, which is what likely accounts for better acceleration.
