Hi, I phoned for details on an M3 4-door saloon I saw for sale through a trader. Got talking and the guy said it was imported from South Africa almost straight away and has 1 registered owner (leasing company). My question is: will it be to full UK/Euro spec? I've done some research and it appears that catalytic converters may not be on SA cars?? Also, is it rust proofed to cope with the crappy UK winter climatic standards? The trader said that the later E-36 models were built in SA. The car on offer is a 99/S reg E-36 M3 evo saloon in BR Green. Any advice would be much appreciated. Incidentally, I phoned on another car (M3 E-36) a week or two ago and that guy had imported his from SA too? What's the story? I'll try and check with BMW UK.
