the hoses all crack/leak; mine went at 55k and (archive)

Out of nowhere my steering got reaaly tough. Pulled over and saw an oil-like fluid all over drivers side wheel and underside. Checked oil, fine. Checked power steering fluid and i think all gone. Car has 60k on it. Has this happened to anyone else. I'm thinking a worn hose or leak... nothing big I hope. Any ideas?
