ON my E28, I tried nearly everything to do just that.
I replaced new pressure plate, throwout bearing, clutch. No change.
I replaced slave cylinder, the mongo return spring attached between pedal and firewall, and new clutch pedal. Slight improvement but hardly noticeable by wife.
I replaced hydraulic line going to slave cylinder and the clutch pedal cam adjustment bolt. Much better but not drastic.
I replaced the worn mechanical fork slider apparatus actuating the throwout bearing, greased the throwout bearing slider and finally got the results I wanted.
THe pedal effort before was so difficult, my 130 lb wife hated to drive that car anywhere. Afterwards, she had NO complaints about using it, even when caught in rush hour traffic.
While this may have worked for my situation, I cannot state with any certainty that this will take care of your problem. But if you are going to get into the clutch system, consider also addressing everything associated with the whole system.
: Has anyone tried the Centerforce clutch in the E28 M5? The reason I'm asking is I would like to lighten up the clutch pedal effort. If anybody knows of anything else besides this that can be done to lighten it please let me know. Thanks. Charlie
