I'm sorry but I just can't leave this one alone. For pure enjoyment, go get your hands on a well maintained E28 M5. The newer cars are bland and have no personality compared to the earlier model. Yes the car is getting a bit expensive to keep up but even with nearly 200,000 miles on the clock.....there is STILL nothing that I would rather have! I don't know about the new one yet as I haven't even SEEN one let alone driven one
but it probably wouldn't matter as $80,000 isn't my idea of value in a car.
If you consider yourself an enthusiast, do yourself a BIG favor and beg, borrow, or steal an E28 M5 for an afternoon and find out what BMW was trying to accomplish when they produced the M5 in the first place. For a hell of a lot less money than the newer ones cost.....the thrill of an M5 can be had at fairly reasonable dollars all things considered. I just LOVE mine!
