: This may sound crazy, but one of my collegues told me that the new M5 rims were made in Taiwan. I told him he was crazy. Perhaps replicas are made in Taiwan.
: Off topic, but I did notice that my BMW factory CD changer in my 2000 540 was made in China.
: Can anyone with a M5 verify that the rims are indeed made in Germany?
: I hope BMW is not starting to cut corners. Thanks.
Well I'm not sure either where the wheels come from, but I thought how ironic that affluent Taiwanese may be thinking the same thing as they go to purchase their cars:
"Mr. Wu, where that new ML55 built? - ALABAMA???"
"OK, how 'bout that neato Z3 2.8? - South Carolina???"
"Ah, cost cutting again - no tank you, I go back to Japanese..."
"Whats that, Honda from OHIO too?"
DaeWoo rescue me...!
