This reminds me of many years ago....about 1967
I drove (forgive me) an American Hemi powered car for transportation. Although in street trim it ran a quarter at 12.8 sec, 128 MPH, often other car owners would say that they could build their cars with this or that so that they would "blow my doors off". They forget that in fact, turbo's SC's etc. can be added to Hemi's as well.
So, who cares if a modified, super charged SC is faster than a stock M5, if true?? It is most likely an attempt for the SC owner to regain his self respect after matching his stock SC against a stock M5... or 540i.... or
