The rear lid lip (spoiler) may not be on a "real" M5 as it is an option to delete it.

true. I think he meant the lower part has a different look than the standard 5 series to accomodate the quad exhaust. Steve is right though- some people choose to not get the little wing. dont go by that go by the exhaust and lower front airdam/bumper.
