Any Central Europe and France Nav CD's out there?
I've got Germany and France, as of June 2000. Want 'em? I'll make you a hell of a deal. Drop me a note at toomanyuserids@yahoo.com.
If you want to buy new, you can go to the Navtech website http://www.navtech.com
Any advice as to how to get on the track at Nueremberg(sp)???
Nuremberg is a few hundred miles the wrong direction. I expect you're referring to the old Nurburgring, the Nordschleife. That's in the Eifel mountains around the town of Adenau (there's a bakery in Adenau whose cherry streusel is reason enough to make the trip.)
First check out Espen Martinsen's site at http://www.born-free.net, and review some of the links.
Then check the Nurburgring website at http://www.nuerburgring.de. Click on Activities, then Northern Loop Opening Times for dates and times it's open to public access, or Self Drive for more details.
The nice interactive track-map at http://cbsgi1.bu.edu/bmw seems to be down, glad I crawled myself a copy before it died.
It's huge fun, I did five laps in '98 with our 540i, it was not open for public use when we were in that area when we got the M5 this year.
Just remember, though, that it is literally a killer of a track. Leave the DSC on, stay well within your limits, and use your mirrors religiously.
