I have a CB model and it is a pain in the ass to keep clean. It is a dust magnet of the highest order. I bought it from a previous owner w3400 miles on it. Since I did not have to wait and since I did not have my name on a waiting list, it made sense to get it. When clean its awesome, but plan on only a few days before you will want to have it hand washed again! I also have an Orient Blue '96 850ci and its just as painful to keep clean. The best color for low maintenance I think is the silver/grey. White is also a pain if you live where it rains and you plan to drive it in the rain. -davew

I am thinking about carbon black as the color for my next bimmer. How do you like the color? Is it a dark blue most of the time, or is it mainly black? How much commitment do you need to take care of it as compared to a lighter color such as white?...i.e. does it require constant washing/waxing?

Thanks for your help!
