I'm very excited to say that I've got an hour and a half behind the wheel of a 2000 Black on Black M5 on Monday over lunch. My local performance gurus (who are also CCA members and friends) set this up for me with a local independant Ferrari "dealer" who has a 2000 M5 with 4000 miles on it in stock that has sat on the "lot" for several months.
So, any tips on test driving? Anything to look out for on the (relatively) new car? Anything to watch out for, other than hitting tripple-digit speeds way to quickly? :)
I may look to pick this up, assuming I can get it at a reduced cost, I know he's asking over MSRP ($80k, which won't happen)... but I'm patient enough to wait a year and a half or more for a 2001 at MSRP (God bless my moral dealer, selling even their Z8s at MSRP). But if I can pick this up for under MSRP (who knows) I might do so. I can't imagine the speculation price will hold for long, since its a year old. Especially considering my dealer sells them at MSRP and the wait is less than a year.
Thanks for any input or advice, in advance.
