I checked off the BMW USA site about European Delivery, and they didn't mention any of the M's being offered in this deal. Is it possible to get an M5 in Germany? I am going there next summer. Has anyone done this before? How long in advance do I need to prepare to get one? Thanks.

I've done it twice already it's a lot of fun. In the website they list the vehicles NOT available for Euro delivery(i.e. the ones assembled in the US) last I checked and the M5 implicitly is available, the problem might be finding a dealer that would take your M5 order since they even want a mark-up and there are people willing to pay. You may want to contact BMWNA directly to skip the BS there may be a wait-list so hurry up.

When I did my 525i I placed my original order/deposit about 3 months before the day I picked it up, and 30 days before the delivery date I got all the paperwork worked out. You get a 1-month tag/insurance and the shipping is included in the reduced price, since you'll be there arrange a visit to the plant long before you go. Don't miss the Nurburgring for some real fun and do it gradually if you do not have a lot of track-experience. After you drop the car in any major city without prior appointment it may take about 3 weeks or more to arrive at the dealer of choice close to you. They inform you when the car left Germany, when it arrived at NJ and stuff like that.

If you want to go there and get it yourself it may be a hassle and quite more expensive than even paying the markup people in the US where I think you are posting this.

Cheers
