If you're looking for raw performance, the Viper has the M5 (and most everything else) covered by a wide margin in every performance parameter except braking (ABS may help '01's but it's more of a f/r bias issue, IMO). It's an absolute blast to drive and the GTS is an excellent track car. However, as a daily drive Vipers are somewhat uncompromising (cramped, hot, big tires, bad shifter, bad brakes) and a bit flashy.

If you're looking for one of the best daily drivers on the market. Buy the M5.
