Honestly, the m5 was my first stick to drive, I drove my friend's toyota corolla with no power steering a few times to get a feel for driving a stick. After a few stall outs and a few weeks later I began driving really well. Downshifting became pretty easy, and I became pretty well acquainted to the car. The m5 was not very hard to learn on at all...

I am on schedule to take delivery on an M5 in early spring. I having slight reservations because I have very basic limited experience with driving a stick. I am planning on buying something to learn on before it arrives, but I still have concerns. Are there any current M5 owners who were in same position as I and who are currently enjoying their cars, I would love to hear your thoughts? Realistically how long does it take to learn to drive a manual. I do not have to worry about traffic, and I am not looking to go racing all the time. I just want to enjoy the car and have fun. Or should I wait for the rumored SMG on the M5.

Thanks in advance for all your thoughts and opinions.
