I'd sure like to know what the answer is, and why the oil specification was changed. But I suspect that only a threat of a class action lawsuit would cause BMWNA to answer it.

The latest from NA and the dealer is that it probably needs a new sticker. They even have a part number for it.

The service manager had a good point though. He says that the engine shouldn't be left over from an older build. If that was the case then having a build date for the car would be worthless.

If they want to put a new sticker and explain IN WRITING I'll let it go.

Heck, a new engine later for $50 deductable would be the worse case.
