Last time I was on Cape Cod (April 2000) I saw a silver E39 Touring with an M badge on the trunk lid.

I did not think there was an M Touring made for 2000.

I would have liked to meet the owner to find out when the lease was up or when he/she intended to sell (upgrade from my E34 530iT)

Anyone believe this was a real M, or know someone on the Cape that attends Christ the King church in a silver E39 Touring?


Unfortunately, one can buy those badges and put them on anything. Bmw never developed a Touring edition, although I believe it would be more desirable than the sedan.
