i asked all about clutches since i SC'd my M coupe. the topic of the OEM clutch for the 540/6sp and the M5 came up. seems that in st.louis, at two of the three bmw dealers they have seen plenty of these beasts come in for new clutchs. this is laughable since the BMW technicians scoff at the OEM design. with so much more power than the e34m5's, can you believe that the new e39m5 clutch is even smaller and less robust?

none of them could understand the skimping here. unless it was a planned move to save the transmissions?
