Clutch on my M5 went at 11,700 miles. The service order read that a main seal leaked oil onto the clutch, and once it had oil on it, it was toast. After waiting over a week for parts (does BMW stock ANY parts in the US???), my dealer (Wagner BMW in Boylston, MA) fixed it up nicely. I did have to go back to have them align some bearing that was clattering, but it seems to be running OK now.

I inquired as to whether this is a Z8 clutch, and they told me it was the same M5 clutch, and that the Z8 clutch doesn't fit (??). Hope this one holds up!
