The particular Subaru in that race was a competition WRX, I think. In North America, right now, all we have is the 2.5RS. 165hp. over the stock Impreza's 2.2l 140 (I think). It's a very sharp car, but nowhere near the performance of a WRX, which starts at like 220hp or so.

There are a couple/few versions of the WRX in Europe/Japan/Australia, the ultimate being the 22B, which is over 300hp I think. Stripped mostly bare on the interior, and ridiculously fast. They often compare it to the Nissan Skylines and those sorts of cars.

The new WRX coming to the States I think is the 225hp one, which was the base WRX-version engine upgrade overseas. Unfortunately, the new body is butt ugly!!! (In my opinion.)
