I find it very sensitive to octane type, using 95 instead of 98 or 99 makes much more difference than with AC on or off. (At least it feels so.)
I haven't clocked it for 0-150 mph and since I am on V-rated (Max 240km/h) winter tyres now I wont be able to do that until spring. Once I have clocked it, I will post the time. :)
Do you find the car very sensitive to octane or fuel type? My car is very tempermental to the point where I left it few days with BMW for complete checking and nothing was found. they said though, that bad fuel or one with moisture built up causes that. Our fuel is 97 and 99 unleaded. Have you ever timed your car for a 1-150 mph test? I would like to get comparisons between my car and others.
This was with VMAX only, Shell Optimax fuel (99 Octane). An indicated 196 is more like 187 mph. I reached this speed on on several places someone where flat like north of Hamburg going to Flenzburg, I actually topped it out several times there.
I also reached this speed between Frankfurt and Würzburg but then I had some help from a slight down hill.
Did you do this speed with the Kelleners engine package or just the VMAX? An indicated 196 is more like 190 MPH. That requires their extra HP unless you have been blessed with a 440BHP+ from BMW. Was the run on a flat road or a slight down hill?
Enjoy the M power
please post the fastest you have gone with your m5... i could only get mine up to 150mph with out running out of road...
196 mph on the meter, have Kellener VMAX module.
