Airbag panel removal question (archive)

I'm trying to remove the panel on the passenger dashboard airbag. I have traced a rattle to that area. It is substantially reduced if I press down on the airbag panel. How does this come off and is it safe to remove? This is on my M roadster and I am posting here because there are a lot of knowledgable people that I respect on this board and I am likely to get a quicker response. Thanks for any advice.
