Bmw usually shuts down in August for vacations and to up date the production line. They then start production of the new model year in September. If you get a September build date, you'll probably receive your car sometime in mid October.
At least that's what happened in my case for a 2001 M5 {built Sept. received 17 Oct.} .......

Does anyone have an inside track on proposed changes with the 2002 model? Also, any idea which month 2002s will be arriving to dealers.

I am slated to get my car in May...maybe better to wait a couple of months and get the 2003.

Thanks.
