M5 heavier, not as nimble, but still kicks ass on the track (if you can afford the brake and tire replacement). M5 has luxury of a Merc S class, M3 more raw edge.

I am on the list for an early M3. However w/options the car is coming in around $54-$55K which is pricy for a 3 series. I think an M5 might be a better option. Opnions?
