Come'on now guys, we don't need to be rude about it. Many tweaked cars will blow the doors off an M5. The poor guy is just looking for the owner of the beast to ask some questions. No need to insult the guy.

Peter: not all M5 owners are as rude. But the first post is right, that M5 was probably not mod'd. It comes with almost 400hp stock along with 18" wheels and dual exhausts. Let me know if you want more info.

ps, you both got on it on the bridge??? that's a hefty ticket.

Hello all,

I had an impromptu "race" with a M5 on the San Francisco approach to the Golden Gate bridge earlier today. I'm posting on off chance that the owner or someone who knows him might read this. I was in a V8 Volvo 940 wagon and was impressed with how well the M5 went. I'm assuming it wasn't stock and would be interested to know what mods had been done to it.

The car was black or dark blue with fairly good sized wheels and tires on it - I'm not real familiar with BMWs but they looked bigger than stock. We were approaching the GG bridge from the San Francisco side on Doyle Drive and both he and I got on it. I was a good way back from him and I doubt he knew I was there when he first put his foot down. I'm assuming he knew it after a little bit as I was the only car remaining in his mirror. I pulled up to him but it took a while and it may very well be because he backed off.

If anybody knows who I might have "met" (tough given the scanty amount of info I've posted, I know), would you let me know?

Thanks,

Peter
