Just received the March issue of Moter Trend. Top Story: BMW M5 vs Corvette (non-ZO6) vs Jaguar XKR vs Mercedes CLK55. Guess who came out on top? Well, this is an excerpt from what one tester had to say:

"On a cool december morning, I watched my boss hustle a bone-stock non-ZO6 Vette to a stellar 13.10s e.t., only to be slapped upside the head moments later with the harsh image of a BMW M5 fishtailing to a 13.07! The M5 beat the Vette in the standing-mile acceleration run,stopped shorter from 100 & 60 mph, and outpaced the C5 through the 600-ft slalom. The Corvette is a damn fime car, but the M5 is quicker-and it's got 4-doors, room for 5, and a cavernous trunk. Clearly, BMW's claim of being the "Ultimate Driving Machine" are much truer than I thought."

OH buy the way, The Jaguar XKR and M-B CLK55 weren't even in the picture.
