I've been here about this topic on this board several times. E46 M3 or E39 M5??? I still don't know. For a while I was set on the M3 for the following reasons: Sportier Style, Better (or about the same) Low End, and... Sportier Style. I can't find much else. The M5 or M3 will not be my only vehicle. So I don't care about practicality. I'm leaning towards the E39 M5 but still very confused. I'm 3rd in line for the M5 and 25th in line for the M3 therefore my M5 decision better come quick. There's an excellent post comparing the E36 M3 and the E39 M3. I know it's not the E46 M3, however, the viewpoints are relative with respect to a M sports car versus sports sedan. Check it out.

Got the call..our e46M3 will be hear in the next 60 days..we are #1 at our dealer. I need to decide if I should pay (around)55K for a new M3 or buy a slightly used M5 for 60k. I have been lurking on this board for months and have seen asking prices droping fast...would it be realistic to see M5 prices at or around that 60K # come April. Honestly, I would rather have a M5. Drove a friends, couldnt believe how friggen fast it was. BTW, He traded his to the local dealer in the high 60s and they sold it for 70..this was 3 months ago and it wasnt a real nice car. I need you opinions..Oh yeah, the M3 is at sticker...
