There is a little entity out there called Uncle Sam that takes about 41% of my gross and I do have monthly living expenses of 8-9K/month and I don't want to jepordize my retirement savings plan. So, I can't pay cash in 3 months which is kind of what I was getting at with the original post. I'm assuming most people pay cash for these things and I can't really do that short of saving over the next several years. I'm like everyone else....I want it NOW (or at least reasonably soon). So, is it responsible? I guess I will ponder that to the point of delivery....

If your pulling in $35K+ per month, you could pay cash in 3 months, and have change for gas.

Unless your home ("minimal debt of a home") is damn near $3Mil,in which your payments would eat up your income...in that case I'd settle for something less expensive (just to not stretch it)!

I've seen others ask the members to tell their income on this board only to get shot down. I agree it's a private issue, but I wanted to turn it around and get your input without asking others such private matters.

Basically, I'm asking a survey to see if I'm in the ballpark of making enough income to realistically (without stretching) afford an M5.

Here's my situation: Early 30's, self employed, minimal debt (except house), making about 450K per year before taxes.

Is it reasonable to consider the M5 or should I settle for something less expensive?

Thanks in advance
