Thought you guys would like to know how my recent “experience” with the blown up engine in my $60K car fared. After some verbal and written haggling I am pleased to say that I will be getting a BRAND spanking new car as a replacement for the damaged one. (The repaired car will be returned to the manufacturers pool of staff fleet cars and will be AS NEW). Various other sweeteners were added but I have to keep a lid on those !
The personnel responsible for the original incident were very apologetic and I accept this was a freak accident. The manufacturer “rose to the plate” and authorized a new car to be supplied ASAP. Moral : involve the manufacturer as soon as possible…
This has been a learning experience in conflict resolution . If any of you have significant problems with your vehicles I suggest you contact the regional representative of the manufacturer and be very professional and firm and you will not be ignored.
Do not give up ! and remember “ you can shear a sheep every year but you can only have lamb chops once”.
Best Regards and Safe Driving !
