Laser Shield Question (archive)

In the bavauto catalogue, page 115, they show a product called Laser Shield (#89004)and The Protector (#89003). Laser Shield sounds like a diffuser for incoming laser beams, and The Protector blurs numerals from a cameras angle but not straight on. Both thin enough to slip in the plate frames.

Anyone have any experience of these products? Do they work?
