0-60 is 6.3 or something. not exactly competitive. dunno bout 1/4, i wouldnt think anywhere close though. the problem with the s8 is that the engine weighs a lot, as does the rest of the car. autobox will make it slower, and the m5 has about a 10-15% greater power/torque advantage as far as the engine goes. interior room is almost as good

s8 has better fuel economy and full size spare tire though, and ride comfort will be arguably better but probably not worth the loss in handling

i have way too much time free. if you want auto, go with e55.
