I have a 2/00 build M5. I now have 12,200 miles on her and have had no problems at all. No clutch problems, no split fold down seat problems, nor any VANOS or DME problems. I did have to have the shift knob replaced because of peeling finish and I do have the normal M5 thirst for oil (1 quart every 2-3 thousand miles).

Other than that, she has been rock solid and a blast to drive........
