My dealer is the best dealer I've been to for any model of car. They are nice, courteous, allow you to drive their cars w/o salesperson, and they are definitely car enthusiasts. It is one reason why I bought my car. My local dealer is Tate BMW in Annapolis MD. However that's not to say that I haven't been to some real jackass dealers as well. Northwest BMW is one that sticks to my mind. They made the samesman come along with me, he had no clue what he was talking about, he wouldn't shut up, and he took me mostly on highways. When I got back inside he wasked "Is there a price you'd like this car for?" when I hadn't even mentioned purchasing it. I told him "No" and left. If you have several dealers around you, check them all out and go with the one that treated you like a paying customer rather than a joyrider.

In the near future, I'm interested in purchasing a BMW. I love the cars, but I don't understand why I hear all these stories about BMW dealers being arrogant bastards.

Big deal, you're a salesperson for BMW... Any theories? I'm just curious.
