lease? Sounds like the second!

With synthetic, I change mine every 5K, 1200 miles to start with.

I have a 750iL with synthetic oil, which I believe the M5s also come with. MY BMW dealer service manager who I have great trust in said that the first oil change doesn't need to be done until the service lights indicate it; in my case at 14,000 miles. As I was leasing the car, it didn't matter to me, but when I get my M5 which I hope to keep for a while, I will pay for a change at 2000, and at 10000 mile intervals, whether BMW pay or not.

I posted this on 2/28, but got no response: Are BMW dealers required to change oil & filter on M5's FREE at one year intervals if the service indicator lights don't indicate the need for service? I have a '00 with only 5300 miles purchased 1/00, and only one green light is out.
Thanks.
Bob
