That the 8000 phone has a day and date inputed into it, therefore with caller ID you know the date and time of the call you missed. Voice activation with the 8000 if you have VR module($300). The 8000 CDMA version (has color)gives you internet access,and lastly the 7000 is basically NO LONGER SUPPORTED BY BMW, you can't retrofit it to older models.
