My clutch is completely worn out at 7800 miles. Costs $1600 to replace. Is there a clutch recall or does warranty cover this?
thanks
mine is slipping at 14k. the regional rep told me that most likely the will NOT cover the repair. That most m5 drivers who have this problem are just bad drivers, or drive their car too hard. He said the 5 or 6 m5 he has been assigned he did not authorize a fix on the clutch under warranty, and that he would do so only if it was a problem with materials or labor. but the only problem here is that the clutch is underengineered in my opinion. I was really pissed from his response. When i called bmwna, they were just as stuipid about it, and nobody recognizes the problem their. I am really pissed about this.

Well from what I hear you are correct, the clutch and tranny is the same out of a 540 sport which has less horsepower and substatually less torque, BMW now knows about the problem they even said in M5 school that the clutch was the week spot. You have to be very friendly to the dealer and they may try sneak it by
