M5 at track today (archive)

There was an E39 M5 at the track today (BMW club). The last session of the day was instructors playtime, and I was riding with the skid pad instructor. Another Skid pad instructor was driving a students M5 (we were behind them). We stayed reasonably close through a series of tight corners, but when that thing hit the straight, it looked like a giant elastic band snapped it clear to the other end of the track.
