BMW models run on 7 year cycles. The Z3 came out in 1996 and is being replaced for MY 2003. The E39 came out in 1997 and is being replaced in 2004 (that is MODEL year, NOT calednar year). The next 3 series is due in 2006 (calendar year 2005)
