Why is M3 faster than M5?....(m) (archive)

I thought for sure with all that more power and especially torque the M5 would kill the M3. But every review I have seen has given the edge to the M3. If this is tha case why would one want an M3? I mean smaller cars are much more fun to drive and if its faster, and can be tossed around with greater ease, why would one want the M5. I dont say this to knock the M5, I think its a great sedan. I just think it should have more power. It should KILL the M3. BMW needs to start TAKING WEIGHT out of their cars, even the new M3 is way to heavy. Can you imagine if it weighed 3000lbs it would be doing 60 in just over 4 seonds, and the 1/4 mile in high 12s!. There should definately be a lightweight M5 with like 450hp to set the record straight that the M5 is the king of the hill when it comes to ///M cars, as it is now its little brother tags it. It shouldnt be this way.
