I have a 2000 Anthracite M5. Over the past 3 weeks I have noticed that the paint on the driver's side of the car is smudged and looks like there is tree sap on the paint. I have washed the car but the problem persists and has even spread. It now is seen in spots on the front fender, the driver's door, and the rear fender. I took the car to the dealer today, and they told me that they have seen this with other cars and that it is a defect in the paint. They are going to contact the BMWUSA representative. Has anybody experienced this problem. If so what has been the resolution?
