Brake "Howl" under heavy braking from high speeds (archive)

I had my M5 out for a spirited run yesterday.
I found that under heavy braking from 160+ the brakes (or
tires) make an erie howling sound, very similar to a police siren which needless to say is un-nerving.

I have not heard this sound before but have never decelerated hard from that speed before. It happened twice yesterday. The Speed limiter is gone due to installation of Dinan ECU software.

I'm wondering if the brakes are up to the cars true speed capability with the speed limiter removed, 185-190MPH or whether BMW designed them to handle the "limited" max speed.

Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this?

My car is an '01 with Dinan stage III suspension, ECU software & Exhaust.
