Holy crap! So much as for the demand 'softening' out here. The best offers I got from any Bay Area dealers when I was looking were for $10k over. A salesman at Weatherford BMW told me that one of their neighbors was still asking $50k over, but I assumed it was BMW of SF, since I had talked to Concord BMW and been quoted a much more reasonable price than MSRP+50k (if you call any price five digits over sticker reasonable.)

Now every time I pass a local dealer in my Jet Black '01 (bought in NJ for MSRP) I just smirk. Not like they're worried about me though, they'll still get their money.


Just a side note - went to Concord BMW today and had a good laugh. 2001 New M5 @ $50,000 over sticker, New M3 & M3 Convertible at $20,000 over sticker.....what a deal! :)
